The flag is also knowned as The Africa flag.

Adoption: The current flag of the African Union was adopted on July 26, 2002, during the 34th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government in Durban, South Africa. It replaced the flag of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), the predecessor of the African Union.
