Facts about the flag:
The flag of the country was adopted on the 4th of October, 1984. In the center, there is an image of the state weapon. The red color symbolizes the revolution before 1952 and the fight against the oppression of British occupation, led by the people. The white color stands for the way of the peaceful revolution. The black color is a symbol of the end of the oppression from the British.

The flag of Egypt during the Ottoman Empire, was an Ottoman traditional flag, with a red and white crescent, and a white star. Between 1922 and 1952, Egypt had a green flag with a white crescent and three white stars, which represented Egypt, Nubia and Sudan.
