Facts about the flag:
The Nepali flag is the only flag on earth that is not rectangular or squared. The emblem of the top triangle stands for the royal house, and the sun in the lower triangle represents the part of the Rana dynasty with the Prime Minister posts.
The red color symbolizes their national flower, the rhododendron, but it is also a symbol of victory in battle. The blue border is a representation of peace.
The previous flag had two separate pennons, a pennon of the two rival parts of the Rana dynasty, which ruled Nepal until 1961. At the time, both the sun and the moon also had human faces, but this was removed when the flag was updated. The current flag was adopted on December 16th, 1962.
