Flag of Colorado

U.S state flag of Colorado
Facts, history and meaning about the flag of Colorado

The state flag of Colorado features three horizontal stripes of equal width. The top and bottom stripes are blue, while the middle stripe is white. In the center of the flag is a circular red "C" with a golden disc inside it. The letter "C" stands for Colorado, while the golden disc represents the state's gold mining history. Above the "C" is a white stripe that contains a set of golden rays, which represent the state's sunshine.

The design of the flag was adopted in 1911, although the exact origins of the design are unclear. Some sources suggest that the design was inspired by the flag of the Republic of Texas, while others suggest that it was designed by a group of women known as the "Daughters of Colorado".
