Two interpretations exist for the flag of Ivory Coast.
The first one concludes that orange is a symbol of the Savannah, green represents the forests along the southern parts of the country, and the white color represents unity.
The other interpretation is that orange is for the rich soil and the blood of the youth fighting for freedom, white is for peace, and green is a symbol for hope and future.
The flag was adopted on December 3rd, 1959, when the land gained independence from colonial rule by France. Ivory Coast joined an alliance with multiple other nations in West Africa.
