Tanzania is located in Africa.

The Tanzanian flag was adopted on June 30th, 1964, with the proportions 2:3.

The flag has blue and green fields with a black stripe running diagonally from the left bottom corner to the upper right corner. This black band is also separated from the other fields by a yellow border on each side. The flag was created when Tanganyika and Zanzibar agreed on a unification.

Details from the flags of the two countries resulted in a combination - the Tanzanian flag. Tanganyika, with its two green horizontal fields and black stripe bordered by yellow lines, and the Zanzibar flag from which the blue color was adopted.

The black stands for the country's population, the green color symbolizes the country, blue stands for the sea, and yellow represents the nation's mineral riches.
