Facts about the flag:
The current flag of the United Arab Emirates has been in use since the 2nd of December, 1971.

It consists of four different colors. A red vertical strip on the left, and three horizontal lines of green, white and black. The respective colors on the flag represent and symbolize different things.

The green color represents the country's largest religion, Islam. The white color on the flag stands for neutrality, and the black color on the flag represents the oil within the country's borders. Each emirate that comprises the United Arab Emirates, has its own flag. The seven states are: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Qawayn.
